Welcome to my new blog. Although it’s been a while since I last communicated I’m fired up and ready to pick up where I left off–providing information and services that will assist you in creating an inclusive campus environment. I truly believe that diversity benefits everyone and I’m constantly inspired by the committed and dedicated people I meet who put those words into practice every day.
I hope you will become a regular visitor and contributor to this site. You’ll find guest authors, informative interviews with Diversity leaders, and great resources. You’ll also find lots of free content from me on the subject, based on 30+ years of writing, researching, and consulting in the field. And speaking of those 30+ years, I hope I’m a lot wiser now–I’m certainly older:)
My new blog will focus on the issues that matter to you. My primary audience is college personnel (faculty, staff, administrators, and students) who are interested in diversity and inclusion and in creating effective services for students of color on their campus. However I’m confident that the information that we’ll provide will have an even broader appeal to anyone interested in creating an inclusive society where we all have a seat at the table.
With your help, we’ll continue to move the diversity and inclusion dialogue forward and learn from each other. We’ll demonstrate beyond a reasonable doubt how diversity benefits everyone and provide support to those who already carry the torch and perhaps offer a different perspective to those who have yet to be convinced of diversity’s true value. Each month we’ll explore a diversity theme in detail.
I will write a monthly blog on each of the themes; post guest blogs on the topics; and post interviews of colleagues around the country who are doing great work on the topic. You’ll also be offered resources on the themes to help you implement new programs and services immediately on your campus. You are encouraged to respond to our blogs and share your ideas so we can create an active, engaged and collaborative community.
If you haven’t signed up yet, so you’ll always receive my latest blog, please take a moment right now to do so: put your name and best email in the box at the sidebar at the right. You’ll be subscribed for updates, and as a thank you, I’ll send you my new research report which reveals crucial insight about the retention and recruitment of African American students.
Join your colleagues from all across the U.S. as we help our campuses fulfill their diversity missions. Please look over the guidelines for becoming a guest blogger and send me your blog. I look forward to taking this journey with you and making a real difference on our nation’s college campuses.
Best regards,
Dr. Taylor
